Charles Schwab, and financial planners charge? The big question?
I am new to investing. A financial planner is to move my retirement accounts, Charles Schwab, I may have more to choose under one roof, and then invite me a 1.4% fee for the year on all of it for its management of services. Is that wise and reasonable? Can I get my order on the Schwab on my own, choosing my own clothes, and avoid his fees? Schwab is good? or others better, taking into account the cost / service, etc. Or if I am directly to the fund company for everything, how can we organize it all? (ie, if I in 10 different funds or property) and I'm going to diversify further into the future to do it this way, or should I trust him as an expert and pay? If he is the Expert and assuming he gets better returns, I am still progressing with the fees as if I were to do an average and try to do it myself? Sorry so long, I just want to make it right. Thanks for your input.
A planner and Schwab will cost more money than you should pay. If you pay to a financial advisor, your Manage investments, he should trade in a low-cost broker. It sounds like the designers tried to make money and allow Schwab to do the work. I also doubt that it More choice to Schwab. You can buy all the shares of a domestic brokerage. The only thing they have no more transaction fee mutual funds. But if you're a planner He does not have to go through a broker, he can buy a fund directly from the company. The planner should manage your money, do not depend on the broker to do it. If you Route 10, the fund is to go a lot. A domestic index fund, an international fund and perhaps a specialized fund would be everything you need. Skip to funds and they will do it for you. Your only costs are the funds fees. And you will pay, no matter who it by buying. If you want to invest shares instead of money, and I'm probably not doing it yourself, talk to a few brokers (Schwab or TDAmeritrade) and see what they provide for the size of your account. I use Scottrade, But they will not provide you consult with an investment.
