Why is it widely known that every single snowflake is unique? Who had the time to find out?
The fact is the historical story of "Snowflake Bentley." Wilson A. Bentley (1865-1931) was a man who has the snow, and continued to study intensively and photograph snowflakes.
The Story of his life in "Snowflake Bentley" by Jacqueline Briggs Martin documented. This book combines biographical data with scientific information. Figures are spectacular and the book is a Caldecott winner.
His story is one of discovery, but also endurance. Imagine the work that tries to add a photo of Capture is a snowflake. Then add that the time period he worked in the technology and tools he had available.
After reading about Snowflake Bentley the fun continues. By visiting the website of the museum honoring him, the snowflakes, which he photographed are available to be seen. One after another, can be seen the snow and exposed to the complicated details. Snowflake Bentley's dream was to be able to share his passion for the snowflake with the world. If he alive today, he would be very impressed with the ability of everyone in the world to see his work on the Internet.
Besides the possibility of seen the snowflake photos, makes it possible to create the Internet for people today to virtual snowflakes.
